This is looking grand. Rolling hills... ponies... bloodshed... well, probably the latter. Mounted combat is coming to Lord of the Rings Online in the next expansion pack, Riders of Rohan, and this developer diary is here to explain it.
I wasn't sure how this would pan out at first -- I thought it might be more gimmick than anything -- but with developers mentioning that entire groups could be planning strategies around mounted combat, it sounds that this might actually have some advantages. The expansion's out September 5th.
