Non-Protected Camera Survives 100,000ft Fall

I know this video is about some case that protected an iPad during a 100,000 ft fall but...what about the camera with no protection that filmed the whole thing? I'll take two of those please. Best unintentional camera advertisement ever.

Retrode 2 Can Read SNES, Genesis Carts via USB

Want to play your favorite 16-bit classic games but don't want to take the illegal route by downloading the old ROMs from the internet? Electronista points to a cool USB-based gadget that actually allows users to plug in a Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo (SNES) cartridge and read the game ROM straight from the source. The only software users will need to download and install is their preferred emulator.

Syndicate trailer teases four player co-op

Syndicate’s co-op mode should provide the closest experience to the Bullfrog original. Sort of. The four player mode will put you in the shoes of the squad of agents you controlled in the old games. The trailer mentions nine missions based on the original campaign, as well as 12 “breach applications.” These are special abilities that let you hack into enemy equipment (including the chips in their brains) and revive downed allies. Like the weapons, you’ll be able to customise these with upgrades earned as you progress.

A Year in the Life of a Gamer

A visual journey through 2011 through the eyes of a gamer. I may play about two hours a day but never played that many games in one year, the way I see it you should play no more then ten titles a year and with the price for one game these days who can afford it.

The Coming War On General Computation

If you have an hour or so to spare, you should watch Cory Doctorow's speech on the coming war on general computation and his belief that the copyright war was just the beginning. Good stuff.

You first have to watch the video to understand where I'm coming from, I should have control over everything on my system that includes modding Firmware to having total control over the Kernel and seen whats starting pause passing etc. I can't tell you how much I want to see the Kernel load and not have it happen in the background, this shit is happening now today and it makes me sick.

Everything in the video he says true, and it all comes down to copyright laws well I say stick your laws up your ass when it comes to having total control over the system you own. Now I see why C4Eva and people like Anonymous do what they do.
You guys seriously have to watch this video! Just picture a miniature Wipeout game combined with quantum levitation to make the most amazing thing you will see all day.

The Kinect Will Replace Human Interaction

What was that crappy movie with Bruce Willis in it where every person had a robot counterpart? Thanks to the Kinect, that is almost a reality. eek! Thanks to taylorveltrop for the video.

What's up

What have I been up to for the last few weeks or so still playing Gears of War 3, working on Computers and enjoying the Christmas Holidays. Now that the holidays are over time to get ready for 2012 International CES Consumer Electronics Association and go ball's deep in Windows 7 something I'm not looking forward to, but have to because Windows 8 will be launching this year 2012. Over the holidays I fired up Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War II and put about ten hours or so in the game and I really love the idea of a RTS mixed with RPG elements, put it this way much better then playing Civilization 4. Also I got Mortal Kombat 2011 and God of War 3 for Christmas from the girlfriend, the MK seems to be OK but I fine myself fighting with the controller to pull off the special moves and combos. I guest you need a arcade controller to be a pro, it could be worst playing with the Xbox 360 controller. What else did I get for Christmas besides games check the list below.

Cool Master HAF 912
4x Sony 50 Pack DVD-R
1x Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB
Upgrading and Repairing PC's 20th Edition
Mortal Kombat 2011
God of War 3
Xbox Live 12+2 Months with Gears of War 3 Omen Skin
Clothes
American Dad Volumes 1-6
Futurama Volume 6
Family Guy Volume 9
Iron Maiden Album
Iron Maiden From Fear to Eternity: The Best of 1990-2010 Album

Christmas turned out to be really good this year hell 2011 was by far the best year I ever had in my life. What are my new years resolutions for 2012 besides going ball's deep in Windows 7 read Microsoft Windows 7 Inside Out Deluxe Edition that includes searching world wide web for tips and tweaks. Conquer home networking learn every setting and what they represent that also includes Routers, Switches and wiring your house with network cable, specially sense I got the girlfriend the WD TV live for the bedroom because now I need more RJ45 Ports. I say networking will be a big thing for me this year at less that's one thing I'm really looking forward to. Also can't wait for Nvidia's new graphic cards to hit the market because I'll be upgrading mine Q4 2012 to play Batman Arkham City, Dexus Human Revolution, Cryis 2 and use the GTX 260 as a dedicated Physx card.

Cooler Master Cosmos II Review Round-Up from Hardocp

Reviews of the new Cooler Master Cosmos II case are coming in from around the internet. As always, we'll do our best to round up as many reviews as we can and post links to them here for your convenience. We'll add more reviews throughout the day as we find them.

I been looking forward to this case ever sense I seen it in Maximum PC magazine dream machine 2011. This case will be getting used for my 2014 system build and will be the last one for awhile, hoping to get seven or ten years out of this case. That way I can spend more money on hardware and not have to worry about buying a new case every system build.

Bell Canada to Stop Throttling Your P2P Traffic

For all of you Canadians on Bell Canada Internet, you will no longer have your P2P traffic throttled by the company. Beginning March 1st, both residential and business customers will no longer be subject to internet throttling…..and that’s the good news. Of course there is always the flip side to good news and that would be you will probably be paying more for the privilege as soon as Bell Canada sets up a billing system on a per usage basis. Bell points out that improvements to its network and the proliferation of video streaming mean that the more nefarious traffic just isn't denting its capacity like it used to.

Skyrim Meets Minecraft

Wow, someone sure put a lot of time and effort into this video. Definitely worth watching. Aldo I can't stand Bethesda Game Studios there's noting wrong with Minecraft.

Log Into Windows 8 by Touching Pictures

With new login methods such as Face Unlock or the pattern from Android, typing in a password seems so last-decade. Microsoft feels the same way and will be adding a new way to log into Windows 8.

Gigabyte's X79-UD3 F7 BIOS Sets X79 Records

Earlier on, reports surfaced around the Web that certain Gigabyte X79-based motherboards were having hardware issues that, in some cases, could lead to failure. Gigabyte reached out to us to refute that claim, clarifying that the issue was limited to its firmware, which could be easily fixed via a BIOS update.

Overclocker "Hicookie", equipped with the recently-issued F7 BIOS and liquid nitrogen cooling, was able to push to a frequency of 5643.3 MHz, producing record scores for the Super Pi 1M and 32M and PiFast benchmarks. Check out Hicookie's most recent records on HWBot for the numbers and the video below of the overclock in action.

Meet Twine, a Magic Box That Can Control Your Home

Eventually everything we own will have the ability to communicate with us. But until then, we're left going on vacation wondering if a burner on the stove is still turned on, or if the washing machine may have sprung a leak while we're out at the movies. Heck, it would be nice if we received a text message stating that the clothes finished drying or if a meal finally heated up in the microwave.

Anonymous

For their support of SOPA, Anonymous is also going after Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift. "To those doubting our powers," the group adds. "We've infiltrated the servers of Bank of America, The United States Department of Defense, The United Nations, and Lockheed Martin. In one day." Man, there goes the PlayStation Network again.

An Atari 2600 Turned Into a Rockin Rave Machine

So you have an old Atari 2600 game console and you're tired of playing the same old 8-bit titles over and over. Why not turn it into a rockin' electronic guitar that will be a huge hit at the next rave?

Japanese Vending Machines Puts Faces in Your Coffee

If the number of Starbucks stores around the world is an indicator of anything, it's that the people must have their coffee. Some people like their coffee black, others like it with sugar and or creamer, but apparently some people in Japan prefer their coffee with a face staring back at them. At the Yojiya Cafe coffeehouses located throughout Japan, baristas are trained to create an iconic face on the top of customers' coffee. Even more surprising is the fact that there is now a vending machine that does the exact same thing.
