BioShock Infinite Boys Of Silence 'Heavy Hitter'

The characters in Bioshock Infinite certainly are rather peculiar don't you think? First there was the robot George Washington, then the creepy handyman guy...I can't wait until October.

Microsoft Shows Transparent 3D OLED With Kinect

The foundation of Microsoft's interactive display is a transparent 3D OLED supplied by Samsung. Other than traditional Kinect interactions, however, the display creates a 3D scenario behind the screen. The user reaches to the back of the screen to interact with the shown objects. This may not be the most convenient 3D technology and reminiscent of an environment similar to a biology research lab, but it is the most impressive demonstration of a transparent OLED we have seen to date.

To achieve a naked eye 3D effect, the technology directs the light emitted by the two stereo images to the user's left and right eye. Microsoft integrated eye-tracking to compensate for head movements and keeps the 3D effect alive even if the user slightly changes her or his location. There were few technical details, but the demo video shows that the display cannot quite achieve complete transparency and it appears that this technology works only with high contrast objects.

F2P Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances has gone open beta

Electronic Arts said that the free-to-play, browser-based strategy MMOG Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances is now in open beta. This latest entry in EA’s Play4Free portfolio is reportedly the first free-to-play cross-platform, MMO strategy game, available now on desktops and soon on tablets and smartphones.

"Players harvest valuable resources, foster strategic alliances and engage in relentless battles as they strive for world domination," the company said on Thursday. "With in-game news and status feeds, players get frequent updates, creating a completely interactive and dynamic gameplay experience that has gamers strategizing, reacting, and adapting on the spot."

The only drawback to the open beta is that gamers will need an Origin account, and to accept EA's Digital Services Agreement. Other than that, Tiberium Alliances will store game saves in the cloud, making it easy for players to move from one form factor to another without having to manage separate games.

Fixing Windows 8

At this stage, it's highly unlikely Microsoft would even consider implementing his suggestions. Has Microsoft completely taken the wrong direction with Windows 8? Is Microsoft so intent on taking on Apple in the tablet sector that it's completely lost track of the desktop consumer? We have a while before Windows 8 goes gold, so it will be interesting to see what will happen to the new OS before then.

You have to read the comments below the article on Toms Hardware, everyone of the comments that are said makes this Operating System look worst then Windows Vista. Hell at this point I would pick Windows Vista over this piece of crap. I was going to get around to test out the new Operating System but I ant going to be that stupid. Windows 7 will be the only OS I'll be using for years to come.
